UPDATE 5/15/05 - I can't believe it's been ten months since we adopted Dawson. The time
has flown by! Dawson is now a big strong boy who weighs eighty two pounds. He is all
muscle and is in excellent health. Dawson gets along great with all family members, both two
legged and four legged. He is especially close to my female Boxer, Maxie. Maxie has
learned that she needs to eat all of her food when she is fed because if she leaves some for
later, it will not be there later. Dawson is a perfect gentleman, greeting guests with a wagging
tail and some kisses but not jumping on them. He is playful and patient, especially with
children. He loves their attention and will tolerate just about anything. Dawson is I great
example of the wonderful pets available through rescue groups. I always tell folks about
Dawson's history when they admire him. People cannot believe that such a wonderful guy
could have been unwanted at one time.

7/04 - Dawson has been adopted!

7/7/04 I took Dawson on an adventure yesterday. We went to my son's soccer game.
Dawson met lots of new people and a few dogs, all of which he loved. He was great in the
car and truely enjoyed all the attention. Dawson walks well on a leash, doesn't pull, sits when
told and patiently waited while I watched the game. We then went to my son's hockey game
where he met more people, everyone kept commenting on how cute he is. Dawson waited
patiently in the car during the hockey game being a perfect gentleman. I can not figure out
why no one has snatched up this great guy. He is not only great with all people and kids but
loves all dogs large and small and is good with cats. What more can anyone want?

6/17/04 -  Dawson has been settling in nicely over the last few days & getting down the
routine here.  He has met my 2 dogs without any problems at all & doesn't bother the cats
too much either (just tries to play with them sometimes).  Dawson does go in his crate with
some bribery of yummy treats, but he is not happy about being in there.  He has had no
accidents in his crate or the house either though--he is such a good boy!  He is a very sweet
boy & what a talker he is!  He is constantly telling you SOMETHING, barking, mumbling,
grumbling, whining or yawning loudly--even when you are right there with him!  It is the
funniest thing, I have not had such a vocal foster before.  Dawson does have some slight
anxiety about being alone so would do best in home where someone is home more often
(working part time or opposite shifts, etc).  He loves going for rides in the car & will even try
to tell you where to take him as you are heading to the car! (he has an opinion for
everything!-LOL).  Due to his vocalness, he is not going to be the best choice for someone
who lives in an apartment or condo, but he will be great anywhere else.  Believe my when I
tell you he has the cutest face too!  Looks like he will be getting to the vet sometime next
week & then will be ready to go home.  Hurry & get your name on Dawson before he is
gone!

6/13/04 - Dawson arrived today thanks to Elaine for going to pick him up for us.  He is a
really cute reddish fawn boxer with black mask, natural ears & a docked tail that is about 4
years old.  He was found as a stray by a shelter & no one claimed him.  He rode great in the
car & stuck his head out to sniff the air a few times as I drove.  Dawson seems like a very
sweet boy & met several people already & was great with all of them.  He sniffed my cats
when he first walked in the house, but so far not much interest in them.  I was able to coax
him into the crate with a piece of a hotdog & a little shove.   I will work on introducing him
to my dogs & cats more once he has had some time to settle in.  We will try to get him in this
week to be neutered & get all his shots updated & then he should be soon ready to go!
Watch for more updates & pictures soon on this cutie!
