UPDATED 8/3/04 - Daisy is doing great, she made the long trip home last week and is
fitting in just fine. She is now known as "Darby", we didn't like Daisy and since she was
given that name when found.....we were able to change it. She loves to play with our 7 year
old daughter, and both tire out rather nicely. She is still being crated while we are working
and at night, but other then that she is doing great. She is so laid back and mellow...........we
are waiting for the typical boxer behavior to come out. I think it's a combination of the new
surroundings, just being spayed, and coming out of heat ..........all 3 of those has her pretty
grounded right now. She has a new 100' trolley run in the back yard.........she's still not too
sure about that thing sliding over her head, but she'll get used to it. She loves to play frisbee,
and also with a ball that has a bungee cord attached to it. She just goes nuts with those toys,
and just last night she caught her first frisbee in mid air about 40 feet away from me. We
can't believe how lucky we got with Darby.....she is the perfect dog in everyway, fully house
trained, already had manners and knows a few commands, and she is great with kids and
new people.....not to mention she is a very beautiful looking dog. Well, that's it for the 1
week update.........see you all in 3 weeks.

UPDATED 7/27/04 - Daisy has been adopted!

7/19/04-Well Daisy made her way to us
yesterday. She came to us because she was not accepting the other females in
her other foster home. I feel it's because she's in heat and there was a
male there as well so she was "competing" for breeding rights. But she's
been doing very well here so far. She's a HUGE mush and very gentle with my
kids. I have done some initial temperament testing with her and I haven't
seen any food or toy aggressions and she plays great!! She slept beautifully
in her crate last night and has not had an accident yet, yeah!! She has met
both of my boys through the crate & the gate, and is fine after the first
few initial moments of protective growling. I haven't gotten them together
yet because Miss Daisy May (as I like to call her) is going for her nip &
tuck tomorrow so I didn't want to add any more stress to her. She's eating
very well and so far is a real pleasure to have around. Will update again
after her spay.

7/2/04 Daisy is doing well. Her personality is beginning to emerge. While she seems quiet,
she gets very enthusiastic about playing with a ball or squeaky toy. She loves lots of
affection and hugs. She doesn't like to share the love, though. We a recommending that she
go to a home where she will be the only dog. Daisy is what we call a "presser" -- one of
those Boxers that leans on you whenever she gets close. She is eating well and spins around
in circles while
enthusiastically waiting for her food. She doesn't play with the other dogs too much. She
does lots of sniffing, but that's about it. Daisy is scheduled for her spaying next week, and
after that she will be ready to go!! Get your application in ASAP for this sweet Daisy-Do!!

6/27/04 Daisy has arrived at Burlington Boxers!! She is a pretty fawn girl with a black
mask, natural years and docked tail. We picked her up from a nice shelter in NJ. She and
her sister were left tied to a tree at the shelter. She had been adopted, but was returned
because she was a little too curious with the resident cats. We are getting to know her
better, but first impressions are that she is a nice, quiet girl who has some manners. She
knows sit, paw, come and stay. She likes to play with toys, is eating well. Pictures and
more to come as we get to know her better!
