5/14/04 What a great week little Ms. Cleo has
had.  She is now eating regular kibbled food twice a day and feeling much
better.  She is a sweetheart and will bring much joy to any family that
adopts her.  She acts like a 3 year old and will work at making you
understand just what she wants.  She talks all the time and we have to just
laugh at her.  Whem she decides it is time for her to have a little treat
she will start just making some small talk but if you don't get the picture,
she will go into a few small barks which also cause her to do some playful
antics.  She is just too cute.  We gave her a bath last night and she looks
and feels so much better.  She is just such a normal boxer but in a petite
body.  She is spending her work days in a wire crate that she doesn't love
but will tolerate if given a peanut butter bone to help pass the time.  At
night, she sleeps in our bedroom sometimes on the floor or she will snuggle
up to her foster dad.  She loves to play with her foster parents and plays
as hard as any boxer that we have.  She is getting along good with all her
foster brothers and sister but doesn't hesitate to let them know if they are
bothering her.  Cleo met the little girl next door and was so excited to
meet her.  She was good with her and her true love of adults and children
continues to show us that she loves companionship. Cleo has begun to play
with toys and seems to love balls and stuffed animals.  She will entertain
herself very nicely.  Cleo will make a great addition to any family, so
don't let her age keep you from adopting her.  She has a ton of personality
and lots of energy.

Boxer'In on the lake would like to
welcome our newest foster Cleo to our home.  Cleo comes to us from a shelter
in Mass. and would like to thank the Maine girls for stopping at the shelter
on their way to New York for a regional volunteer meeting and getting her
into rescue.  We don't know much about Cleo except that her previous owner
turned her into the shelter as the owner was very very ill.  Cleo is a
petite spayed flashy fawn female with natural ears and a docked tail. Cleo
spent last Monday at the vet as she was really not feeling well.  She only
weighs 36 pounds and they gave her some supportive care and she came home on
Monday night.  This girl is so little and she is absolutely the cutest
little boxer I have ever seen.  We are guessing her age to be between 5-7
years old but I can tell you after spending a week with her that she is full
of life and puts most of my own dogs to shame because of her activity.  She
has been so hungry and we have not been able to fill her up yet.  She has
been on a bland diet but this morning we started to offer some kibbled food.
She has very big round eyes and gives lots and lots of kisses.  She will
jump into her foster dad's lap or arms when you least expect it.  She is a
huge counter surfer and we are working on discouraging this and I think that
once she feels full from eating her own dinner that this will stop.  She is
fast and very good at it.  She played with a toy last night for the first
time so I think she is feeling better. Cleo is doing fine with all her
foster brothers and sister but has no problem telling them that she doesn't
want them fooling around.  She gets a little up-tight when there is alot of
confusion which we have often because of so many dogs.  She hasn't realized
yet the she is only about half their size.  You know the saying that "good
things come in small packages", well this discribes this girl perfectly.
She is a wonderful dog and would be a great addition to any family.  Cleo is
a talker and makes us laugh alot as she has great ways of making you do what
she wants.  She is such a delight and she has already touched our hearts.
If you are thinking about a small boxer, look no further as you have found
your girl.
