UPDATE 4/11/05 - Chloe continues to be as sweet as sugar. She has participated briefly at two BRAD's
so far, and I have to say that her manners with other dogs (and people) are incredible. Even when barked
at or nipped at, she always stays calm, cool and collected. She has a Boston terrier buddy (our neighbor)
and in spite of the Boston's extremely exueberant welcomes, Chloe is quite calm and behaved around her.
She loves kids, and that is the one thing that will get her to pull on the leash. She loves all kids, big and
small. Chloe is extremely food motivated, and I have a feeling that if I asked her to drive down to the store
to pick up something for me she would figure it out, in exchange for a treat, of course! We had two
episodes of counter surfing a few months ago but catching her in the act and telling her no, did the trick.
She will drool over a steak on the counter, but she will not touch it. An open bag of chips on the floor of
the kid's rooms though, that's a different story! she figures that if it is left una
UPDATED - What can I say about Chloe? she has just stolen our hearts with her sweet and loving
disposition. She just wants to please you and get affection. People are very surprised when they hear
about how she started her first 6 months in a cage in a pet store. we often get stopped by strangers who
want to pet her and comment about how pretty and sweet she is. Chloe is now out of the crate at night,
and only goes in when no one is home. We've had no potty accidents in awhile, and she is doing very well
with obedience. Chloe gets a walk and an off-leash run in the morning and at night, and she just gets so
excited when she knows it's time for her "run" she also loves riding in the car, and gets very sad if she
doesn't get to go. Coming home to her kidney bean dance is always a pleasure. We love our girl and can't
imagine life without her!
UPDATED – 08/01/04 Chloe is an absolute gem. She is so happy to have a home, she literally runs
into the house whenever we get back home from being out. She is a kidney-beaning queen, and adores all
kids, from babies to teenagers. She is doing wonderfully with house and obedience training, and has
learned "sit" is working on "come" and other commands, as well as bell training (since she never makes a
peep when she needs to go outside!) She is a very quiet girl who never barks, and loves to just lie quietly
at your feet, although she really enjoys her walks and off-leash exercise runs. She also has a good
appetite. she has put on some weight, and looks great. Chloe is definitely a "people" dog, she will watch
out the window very patiently whenever one of her "people" leaves the house, and will often go in the kidâ
€™s rooms to see if they have magically come home and she missed it. She is very affectionate, and
never jumps on furniture, chews inappropriately or gets into food or garbage (not your usual boxer, I
know!) She loves affection, and a "good girl" with a nice neck scratch is just as pleasing to her as a treat.
She does have a tendency to pull on the kids clothing with her teeth, and to nip very gently when playing
with the kids, but she has made great strides with stopping this behavior, we have noted that with young
children and babies, she is amazingly gentle, sweet, and very tolerant. This little girl does not have a mean
bone in her body-she is a love! thanks for letting us adopt Chloe!
UPDATED 8/11/04 - Chloe's leg is completely healed, and she has no limp. She went to the vet and got
her heartworm treatment, and her spay checkup. No problems of any kind-she's a very healthy girl who
has put on 6 lbs this month-which is good because she was underweight. She is great with all kids, little
babies up to teenagers-she is very gentle with the little ones, and doesn't bark or jump on people. We are
working on housetraining and leash training, she has improved quite a bit with both, with the accidents
getting further and further between. She is crate trained, and has only had two accidents in the crate-she
sleeps very well at night in her crate. We are very happy with Chloe, as she has a very sweet disposition!
UPDATED 7/19/04 - Chloe has been adopted!
Chloe is rescued from a pet store. She has lived her whole life in a small cage. She is so happy to be out
and getting some fresh air. Chloe spent the night at the vets to get a once over and will be spay on friday.
She will get to her foster home today and up dates will follow. Chloe needs a home where someone is
home most of the time. And a home that has lots of time and patience to give this girl the start she needs.
