UPDATE 4/18/05 - Hi, I can't believe a year has gone by that I adopted the handsome
Brutus. He is doing really great and has settled into his new home. He is so handsome and
gets many compliments on what a handsome boy he is. He has made a lot of friends. We
have been going for regular walks everyday around the neighborhood and now that the
weather is better on the weekends I have been taking him to a park in Carlisle. It's mostly
woods for hiking and biking and he absolutely loves it there! Everyone is my family simply
adores him. Whenever we have family gatherings he makes sure he gives boxer hugs to
everyone. Brutu's health is great! We just had his yearly visit to the vet and got updates on
his shots and a clean bill of health. He is weighing in at 76 lbs. The obedience training has
really helped me tremendously. I had many pets growoing up but never a dog. It really
helped us bond. I am thinking of doing more training for Brutus and for me as well. He
loves to play with the boxer next door, Perry. They play really well together and he is just
tuckered out for the day after they get to play. Brutus is so funny, he doesn't like the cold
or cold rain. So whenever I take him for a walk he heads right back to the warm and
cozy house. He is truly a lovable dog and I can't imagine not having him as part of the
family.

UPDATED 7/16/04 - Brutus is doing just excellent adjusting to his new home.  Everyone
in my family just adores him.  My Dad had to dog sit for me one night and a friend of the
family stopped over with their children a 4 yr old boy and 2 year old girl.  Brutus was so
good with these children, the little 2 year old actually sat on his back like he was a horse
and Brutus adored it.  He also has a scheduled play date to
play with the boxer next door Perry who is 3 years old.  As soon as I get the pictures
developed I will send them along of Brutus and Perry playing. I finished the obedience
classes and am thinking of taking the next level of obedience class.  Brutus did excellent in
class. From what I can tell he is very well trained and the classes were more helpful for
me.

UPDATED 6/4/04 - I can't believe how quickly two months have gone by.  Brutus is
doing great!  He is such a good boy. He has been doing very good in the obedience
classes, we have two more left and are really bonding.  He is getting to know the other
dogs in the neighborhood and one neighbor has a 3 yr old male boxer (Perry) that he has
had playtime with.  It's so fun to watch them play together.  I took Brutus
to the beach again over the Memorial Day weekend and he seems to be getting used to it.
We took a long walk out on the sandbar which he enjoyed! While walking him around a
lake the other day a young boy asked if he could pet Brutus.  Brutus just stood there nice
and proud while this little boy was petting him.  Brutus's health is excellent, the area where
the lump was removed has grown in quite nicely.  I get so many compliments on how
handsome he is and how nice his coat is.  It's so nice when I come home tohave him
wiggling his tail and jumping up and down, it just makes my day.

UPDATED 4/16/04 - I am happy to say that Brutus is adjusting well to his new home.
He likes to give hugs to everyone that comes to visit him.  There is a park at the end of
my street that he loves to go to.  We will be starting obedience training this coming
Monday April 19th.  I am looking forward to that, I think I need it more than he does.
I'm sure he will be a shining star in obedience training.  We are going to the veterinarian
tomorrow for his introduction visit and regular checkup. Stay tuned for more updates.

UPDATED 4/4/04 - Brutus has been adopted!

3/17/04-Brutus is a big lovable teddy bear of a guy!!! I can't tell you how sweet he is! Or
how big he is!!! Brutus went to the vet's and weighed 84.9 lbs, I had guessed him at
85...I think I've been spending too much time with the dogs lately.....Brutus is now
updated completely, heartworm/lyme negative and has had a large wart like lump
removed from his back. Nails are clipped, ears are clean... he has been completely
spoiled here....Brutus has only one issue. He does not like the crate at all, He will now go
in on command, however makes his displeasure know very vocally by whimpering and
whining. He had never been in a crate in his five years , so this is all kinda new to him!!!
Do you have room in your heart and home for a very big boxer boy? Get those
applications in!!!

The Upperfield is happy to welcome Brutus to our home...Brutus is a five year old owner
surrender. His owner had to give him up due to living in a third floor apartment that did
not allow dogs.  He is Brindle with white markings, and he is very LARGE...I mean he's a
bit overweight but this boy is just plain BIG...he has a head the size of a mastiff....but, he's
all boxer. If you've got a yen for an xtra large boxer boy...this guy could be for you!!!
We will give a better update as we get to know this handsome fella!!!
