UPDATED 09-10-04 - Bruno is doing great. His 2 week follow up at the doctors went well. His ear
infections are gone and he has gained 1 pound. We go back next week to have his weight checked and
stool checked for the Hookworms. He also gets his second dose of medicine for the worms.
Bruno goes everywhere with us. His new place this week is the bus stop and to school to pick up his
brothers. He seems to love it. He gets very excited.
His obedience classes are going well. He is listening well and following directions. He seems very happy
to be around other dogs.
Today was the first time he ran out of the house when the door opened. Howard was leaving for work,
and Bruno wasn't happy about that. As Howard left the house and the door didn't shut fast enough there
went Bruno after Howard. Howard brought him back in.
We bought Bruno a doggie bed so when he takes a nap during the day he sleeps on it. At night though
he sleeps in bed. The kids are still fighting over whose bed Bruno will sleep in.
Bruno has constant attention. Between playing catch with dad to cuddling with mom, to the kids hugging,
kissing and playing with him, his only down time is night-time.
He really is a great dog that is a perfect match with our family.

UPDATED 8/22/04 - Bruno did great on his 8 plus hour car ride to his new home.  He slept the whole
way, his favorite spot was curled up on Howard's lap. He did get up when we stopped for breaks.
When he came in the house, it was like he had always lived here.  He just ran around and played. Of
course it helped that we had all of his favorite toys here. Thanks to his foster mom Jill,we knew just what
to get. We had soccerballs, footballs, basketballs, plush sqeaky toys, and rawhide bones.
He loves when his brothers Taylor,Brendan, and Ryan play ball and tug of war with him. His brothers
also love to give him treats. Brendan likes to curl up with him on the floor, because Bruno is warm and
comfy. Ryan likes to lay with Bruno and play with his ears. Taylor likes when Bruno sleeps on his floor.
However, Bruno sleeps best when he is our bed.
Bruno met his grandparents and gets along well with them. His grandfather absolutely adores him and
could spend hours playing with him. He has also met several of the neighbors and seems to love the
socialization. Especially with one little 18 month boy, who Bruno gave a great big wet kiss to.
Bruno had his first Obedience class, which he thought was pretty boring. The instructor did paperwork
and reviewed information with the parents. He did become more interested in the class when another
Boxer came in.
On Tuesday he had his first appointment with his new doctor. We definately had some suprises at this
appointment. He is underweight, which we knew. She would like for him to gain about 10 pounds. We
found out he has a double ear infection (bacterial and yeast). He is on ear drops for the next three
weeks and ear wash weekly. Bruno goes for an ear check and weight check in two weeks. His paws
are red and one is puffy. The vet feels this is allergy related and put him on Benadryl one time a day and
foot wash daily. She did say the medicine might have to be changed. Also the stool sample we brought
in showed Hookworm. So they gave him oral antibiotics and we go back in four weeks for more
antibiotics and a stool sample. They also did a blood test for heartworm which did come back negative.
We also got Heartworm medicine and flea and tick medicine.
Mom tried to leave me home a couple of times without putting me in the create. However I always
seemed to get into some kind of trouble. The first two times I knocked over all of the pictures on the
window box seats. I also pulled down half of the curtains, and tore apart a wicker basket. Then mom
decided we should try the create. I didn't ruin anything, but boy did I drool alot. My whole tray was wet,
and I was dripping.
Bruno doesn't like to be by himself and follows us around wherever we go. He is a great dog/baby and
we love him a whole bunch. He fits in great with our family and seems very happy and comfortable.

8/14/04 - Bruno has been adopted!!

8/11/04 Hi Folks, It's me Bruno. Thought I would tell you a bit about myself. My foster mom says I am
a good boy. I do fine in the crate (sometimes I just drool a bit) and love being outside. If I am not
running and playing in the yard then I am sunning myself in the chair. Sunbathing is so relaxing. I am
eating really good and my foster mom is giving me lots of kibble to try to fatten me up a bit. I am a
typical Boxer pup that burns off everything I eat so keeping weight on me is a task.

I was neutered on Friday and I am healing well. I have been so good and have not licked or fussed with
my incision at all. Guess the threat of one of those goofy e-collars made me think better of it. I am trying
to get better about meeting new people that come to my foster home to visit. I am just not sure what to
make of them. I do sometimes growl at them a bit, but my tail is wagging. I NEVER snap at them, just a
low nervous growl. This whole meeting new people is a bit unnerving. My foster mom has been working
on socializing me. She says I am making progress. I walk very well on the leash, I am my foster mom's
favorite dog to walk. We have alot of fun and this week she promised to take me to the beach to see if I
am a swimmer. I think I would rather go to the beach and sunbathe! Anyway, my foster family tells me
that their is a FOREVER home out there for me somewhere. Now I just have to find it......I hope they
will give me my own special lawn chair. That's really all I need to be happy. I will update you soon!
Wiggles and Slurps, Bruno
