UPDATE 11/21/05 - Brody has had a busy, but good year with us.  We moved a few months ago
and he was okay with that as long as he got to go with us.  It didn't take any time at all to get used to
the new house and loves to go for walks and sniff out the neighborhood.  He's just now figuring out
that another dog lives next door... thank goodness for fencing!  He plays well with other dogs and
loves to go to doggie daycare.  I have had issues when walking him with getting so excited about
getting over to see another dog, that owners of the other dogs get nervous because they think he is
aggressive because he's trying so hard to get away from me.  It makes walking with him difficult, but
fortunately we have plenty of yard for him to play ball and run hard in.  We've gone to lots of
obedience training, which has helped so much with daily life.  We enjoy his playfulness everynight and
then naptime on our laps.

UPDATE 5/26/05 - We are so happy that we adopted Brody! It was only 6 months ago, but I can't
imagine a home without him now! He is now up to 67 pounds and looks fantastic! He trusts that we
are going to give him food and water and we no longer have to control his water intake. He is
fantastic in his crate and is starting to do well by himself in the house. He loves to go hiking with us or
go anywhere in the car. He is an absolute joy to have around. He does a great wiggle butt every time
he gets out of the crate and gets to see us. Every morning we come out into the living room and he
wants to give great boxer hugs, then curl up as though he is a lap dog - it's very sweet. He always gets
compliments about how handsome he is (especially with the beautiful brindle coat he has). We take
him to doggie daycare on days when no one is home and he does great with the other dogs. At first
he was in the high energy group, but he has since graduated to the big pen with all of the laid back
dogs. We just started up intermediate obedience to help with me having better control in the presence
of distractions, because he is so strong. The gentle leader works the best, but I would someday like to
train him out of it. He does great with other dogs and is so careful around little kids. I can't say enough
good about him!

UPDATE 2/25/05 - Brody is a fabulous boy! He has a great morning routine that makes me smile
every day. He gets out of his crate and gives lots of kisses and wiggles, then runs off to the bedroom
to see whoever is still sleeping and wiggles for them. Then he runs back into the living room, does
three or four flops onto his dog bed and he's finally ready to take care of business outside. He's been
such a joy to have in the house. He really likes to go into the shower and sniff around when he doesn't
feel like sleeping anymore - it's his thing to investigate. I was busy packing the other day and he kept
going into the bathroom, jumping into the shower, and sniffed around until I came in looking for him.
When we got him, he would eat and drink as much and as quickly as he possibly could. Now, he only
drinks what he wants, and he takes his time with his food and will even walk away from it to make
sure we're not getting in trouble!! I never imagined he would walk away from food since he loves it so
much!

UPDATE 1/18/05 - We adopted Brody two months ago and we couldn't be happier. He is such a
sweet boy who loves to sleep (and snore) as close to us as possible! He's very playful and loves to
chase his Kong full of peanut butter. We've been taking him to doggie daycare for the few days that
no one is home so that he has the chance to play (since he loves other dogs so much). It's also great
for getting him out of the crate for very long periods of time. He comes home so worn out and happy!
He's doing great in his crate and will even go into it by himself when I'm in the kitchen. We've even
been able to put the bedding back in as he no longer messes in it.

We had lots of friends over recently and he was so calm with all of the people in the house. He did a
great wiggle butt dance for everyone who came in, gave great hugs to anyone who sat on the floor,
and managed to steal a huge block of cheese off of the table while no one was paying attention. He's
been great fun and so lovable - again, we couldn't be happier.

UPDATED 12-20-04 - Brody is doing great!  He seems to be getting more and more comfortable
around the house every day.  He's not a huge fan of the crate, especially without bedding in it, but
we've been finding he messes in the crate if there is bedding in it, so we've had to go without.  He
loves obedience training and any other opportunity to play with other dogs almost as much as he loves
food.  He's been a great addition to the family!

11/20/04 - Brody has been adopted!

11/04/04 Brody continues to do well here. He is super outgoing and sweet. He has not met the vet
yet but will go next week. Brody needs to gain a little weight and be neutered and then it will be time
to move on. He is completely housebroken and cratetrained. He loves everyone he meets and greets
them with lots of tail wiggles and kisses. I think Brody will do well with a family that is active and can
spend some time on training.

10/31/04 Brody was an owner surrender due to a divorce. He has not been well cared for, for the
last month. He is very underweight and has never seen a vet. Brody has never had shots or been
neutered. As soon as we get some weight on him he will see the doctor. Brody came into rescue with
his best friend Riley. They have lived together as well as with cats, kids and a bird. Brody is extremely
happy and friendly. We will let you know as we get to know him better.
