3/8/04 Bosworth has come a long way the past few days. It is amazing how resilient
puppies are. He has gotten used to being on a leash and will sniff and explore. Bosworth
has also become very adventuresome when in the fenced yard, he used to just sit at the
door and be to afraid to move an inch. He really enjoys playing with my dogs. Jamie and
Antonio like him alot they play very well together. After playing for awhile today Bosworth
crawled on my lap for a little nap, about 20 minutes later he realized his buddy Jamie was
on the dogbed... so down he went. It was precious to see him and Jamie curl up together.
Bosworth is really good about reading the other dogs signs. Since he has alot of puppy
energy he constantly wants to play with them, if they have other things in mind he backs off
and occupies himself with a toy, finds me to play or takes a little nap. Bosworth was also
SUPER friendly with his sister Fiona's new forever family, the usually laid back pup was
going bonkers . Maybe he thought they were here for him? I was worried about his first
night alone in the crate after Fiona was adopted but Bos is GREAT in the crate. He settles
in right away and you don't hear a peep out of him. Such a great little guy.
3/5/04 Bosworth is cleared for adoption, we just got the culture results back yesterday.
He had his final bath and is now in the general population. He loves to play, play, play. He
is really starting to come out of his shell. He is much less fearful of going outside and is
even beginning to wander while on leash instead of cowering. We will continue to work on
socialization while he is here. He is crate trained for the most part and we are working on
housebreaking. Bos loves nothing more than to be cuddled. He puts his head on our
shoulder and takes a nice nap. He is a great little puppy.
2/12/04 Bosworth is the most laid back of the puppies. He very graciously waits his turn
for medicine, treats etc. Bos has the most beautiful green eyes that shimmer in the light
when he looks at you. He is up to about 17 pounds now. He weights as much as his
brother Osborne but is much more compact. Bos is a short, squatty little guy. The pups are
coming along nicely with their ringworm treatment and are beginning to grow some prickles
of new hair. YEAH!! All 4 pups go in for a checkup and boosters on February 24th.
Hopefully they will be given the all clear.
2/5/04 Bosworth is getting to be a big, bulky boy. When you look at the puppies he is the
smallest, but when you pick him up he weighs a ton. He and Osborne were about the same
weight but I think Bos is now the leader. He is going to be a big strapping boy when he
grows up. Bos is the most laid back of the puppies. He is content hanging out and waiting
for his turn to be pet or get a treat. Our test results from the vet confirmed that the puppies
have ringworm. They have been being treated for the past week and a half and are making
wonderful progress. Their little bald spots are starting to look better already. They are
treated 2x a daily with oral meds and a weekly Lime Sulfur dip, so they should be
recovered very quickly. If you see a puppy in your future you better get an application in
right away. These little babies won't be around for long!
1/29/04 We would like to introduce Bosworth, one of Mya's puppies. Bosworth is a cute
little brindle boy, about 8 weeks old. His tail was docked and declaws removed at the
shelter. Mya was surrendered to the shelter along with her 4 puppies that were a couple
days old. The puppies were raised at the shelter were they had hoped to adopt them out
themselves when a skin issue appeared. All 4 are currently undergoing testing to find out
what exactly where we stand. I am hoping to get a call from the vet soon with the test
results. I keep you updated.
