2/27/05 - Unfortunately Bones' health had deteriorated and after many tests, medications and months of trying to get him better, he was not doing well at all. We had to make the very hard decision to let him go so he was not suffering any longer.  Please keep Bones & his foster home in your thoughts.

01/11/05 Bones' foster Mom has been having computer problems so she asked that I send in an update for him. She's afraid that the lack of updates is making potential adopters pass this handsome boy by! Bones is a very laid back, easy going Boxer Boy. He will make a great addition to most any home. Bones is fine with other dogs, kids and adults. He's not the perpetual bundle of energy most Boxers are and is content hanging around the house with his people. He will be perfect for someone who wants a low maintenance companion.

12-14-2004 - Bones has been at the Lodge for 2 1/2 months now.  Him and the Queen still don't like each other.  I have to hook one to the chair and one to the couch.  They are fine in the same room, as long as they don't make eye contact and can get at each other.  On the other hand Bones and Rocky are fine together.  Rocky actually will protect Bones from Katie.  Whenever Rocky and Katie are in the yard and I bring Bones out, Rocky will distract Katie from Bones.  Bones has been having some potty issues in the house.  Sometimes I think it is because he doesn't like being in the crate.  He has to be crated when I go to work and when I'm not home.  I have been out a lot lately because I have to do shopping.  During the Christmas break I will be home all week and I will try to work on his potty issues.  Unless of course he is lucky enough to go to a forever home.  He is a great boy and is very sweet and gentle.  All the kids that come over love him.  He just needs a home that will love him and he will be the best bud.  He seems to just want to be by your side and have you pet him.  He really doesn't ask for much.  Just food and love.

11-21-04 - Bones has been with us for 3 weeks now.  He is doing much better.  He has now started waging his stub and is always happy to see you. Bones and the queen Katie don't see eye to eye.  We had a fight the other day over a bone.  Katie is the queen bee here and she doesn't always take well to my fosters. I have had to keep them on separate floors. Bones is a very mellow boxer, he just likes to hang out with you. He is not a jumper and he walks very well on a leash. He would be great with a family with small children.  He doesn't have a mean bone in his body.  The other nite I feel asleep on the couch, when I woke up I couldn't find bones.  I looked all over the house, he was nowhere to be found. Bones is no small dog and I couldn't figure out where in the world he was.  I finally found him on the floor all stretched out on Ed's side of the bed.  One nite my 10 year old took Bones to his bedroom to sleep.  After a 1/2 hour Joey brought him to me, he couldn't sleep because Bones was snoring. I believe Bone's hearing is somewhat off, I know he hears me, but at times he is not sure where it is coming from.  Bones is waiting for that special family to come and adopt him, he wants most of all to be with his forever family for Christmas.  So if you are looking for that special guy, Bones is the one for you.

10-31-04 - Bones arrived at the Lodge on Halloween. Bones is a large white male who was an owner surrender.  He came from a very loving home and for the first 4 days was very sad.  He is now becoming himself.  Bones is taking medication for seizures.  He is a very sweet loving boxer.  He has taking a liking to all of us, most especially my boys.  Yesterday when EJ came home from school he was playing with him and then EJ went outside to play with his friends.  Bones laid in front of the French door just watching EJ outside.  Then he started scratching at the door, because he wanted to be with EJ. When you take him outside he is always looking for you and will stay by your side.  If you stop walking he will too. He is not a jumper and doesn't do much barking.  He has a very mellow personality.  He is just a love.  He will follow you everywhere you go.  So if you are looking for a sweet companion Bones is the one for you.
