UPDATED 3/1/04 - Oh where to begin...Bella is such a sweetheart.  She sleeps in our bed
every night and has even started to sleep under the covers, until she gets to hot.  She loves to
run and she is fun to watch.  She runs like a bull and can keep up with every dog she has
encountered.  We bring her to play with my brothers 10 month old Chocolate lab and they
have a blast.  Bella ofcourse uses her paws (since she is a boxer) when they play.  It is kind
of like watching a wrestling match and Bella always wins because she is a better wrestler!
When we first got her she was constantly on my side and now she would always rather be
with her Dad (Don), because he is more fun, I guess. She will like sit on me and play with
him!  I now always get the "butt" and he gets the kisses! But if something scares her or she
needs protection she comes to me, I am the "Mom"!!  She is adjusting well but I think she
might need a brother or sister soon! So she can always have another dog to play with. If
only one of us is home she is constantly waiting for the other to come home.  We have only
had her a month so I imagine she will relax more and more. We could not imagine our lives
without her.  To think someone gave her up and she was going to be euthanized... I can not
even fathom!!  Oh and ofcourse she snores louder than her "Dad"!!  Oh and one more
thing... one week after we get her she is in the backyard and goes around the garage and....
yup you guessed runs right into a skunk!  Luckily I made it to Pet Co before they closed.  I
am grateful for how well the skunk out stuff works :)  The skunk did not phase her at all, I
believe the next time she sees one she will again go after it!!

Bella has been adopted!

1/28/04 Well Bella is settling in nicely at here new fosterhome.  She was very frightened
when she first got hereas all the transporters discovered.  Bella is from a breeding situation
where she has a many litters of puppies.  My understanding is that she was brought into a
shelter to be euthanized after a litter was born because of a prolapsed uterus.  She went to a
vet and was spay but it was thought that she might need additional surgery.  She was brought
up to Maine where the surgery was a little cheaper.  On Tuesday she had her appointment
and the good news is she doesn't need any more surgery.
Bella is on the road to recovery.  She is one sweet girl who needs a little love in her life.  We
are seeing her come out of her shell a little bit everyday.  If she hears a loud noise she runs
for her crate so we
make sure it is always accessable to her so she can escape if she feels the need.  Last night
we worked on stairs because we discovered that she had either never done stairs or it had
been so long that she seemed to have forgotten how to walk up them.  Just today Bella
decided that she wanted to play with the toys and will play bounce at them like they are
going to play back.  Bella is one cute girl as you can see from her pictures.  Won't you
consider making her a part of your family?

1/20/04 Bella is a beautiful flashy fawn girl with cropped ears and a docked tail. Bella's
owner called a local shelter to have her put to sleep as she had a prolapsed uterus. This is
caused usually from having to many litters. SCBR quickly snatched up this little girl and she is
off to see the vet today. Bella is a very friendly girl that seems so happy to be in the hands of
someone that will take care of her.  Thanks Liz for saving this girl.
