UPDATE 11/25/05 - 12 month update. Buddy is a very sweet, easy going & devoted dog.All he
wants is love and of course,a game of soccer.Buddy and Mugsy get along very well since Buddy
accepts his place as 2nd dog- this took a few months for them to work out and at times it was
scary ;now they are great together.I think it takes alot longer than most people expect for dogs to
adjust to a new home, new people & another dog.I'm glad we gave him the necessary time.
We had the yard fenced in this summer and it has proved to be the best thing we could have done
for these two energetic, rough playing boys.Buddy is healthy and happy and a great family member.
UPDATE 6/13/05 - Buddy is a wonderful dog. He is extremely sweet and gentle and cute as can
be. Balls are his absolute favorite thing in the world; most of his day is spent playing ball!
Recently,Buddy has begun to allow us to kick the ball for him to go and fetch, though he still will
not let us throw it. Game's over if we try. Buddy loves children and older folks. He knows just the
right thing to do with them. Mugsy and Buddy have worked out their pack positions and get along
very well. We are still working on Buddy's aggression issues with strangers and other dogs he
meets while he is on walks; he is doing better and better with this as time goes by. We have a great
trainer. So,our Buddy-luv is doing very well all around. We are so happy he has become a
member of our family!
UPDATE 3/11/05 - Buddy is a wonderful dog. He is
sweet, happy and just wants to please. Buddy and Mugsy are now getting
along very well . Our trainer has been working very hard with both dogs
to get the aggression issue under control and I think we have reached
success! It has been an interesting three months, but now having two
sweet yet crazy Boxers to come home to each day has made it all worth
the effort. Now all we need is some nicer weather to play outside in.
11/7/04 - Buddy (Bailey) has been adopted!
7/2/04 Hi Guys, this is Buddy (Bailey). I insisted on using my foster Mom's computer because I
wanted to do my own update. It has come to my attention that in my photographs, I look like I
am overweight. As a matter of fact, some humans (who shall remain nameless) have mentioned that
I am 'stocky'. I am here to set the record straight. I am not fat -- I am fluffy! I know you may have
heard that before, but in my case it's true. I have a handsome, fluffy brindle coat. I am also an
energetic boy who loves to play. I like to play ball (I play a version of soccer that I like to call
"Boxer Soccer") and I LOVE squeaky toys. I also like to play "chewy face" with Heidi. Oh -- and
I can run really fast -- I play a game called "run around the pool" with the girls. I run the fastest!!
My foster Mom says that I am "quite a character". She also calls me a clown. I don't know why...
Anyway, I am hoping to get a forever home soon. I am going to the vet's tomorrow for a checkup
and to have her check out something called a hernia, that they think I have. I may need to have an
operation for it. Once I'm all cleared by the vet, I will be ready for my forever home. Will it be
yours??
6/27/04 Buddy has arrived!! We picked him up from a very nice shelter in NJ. He rode home very
quietly in the car. He was given the name Bailey by the shelter staff, it seems that no one knows his
real name. He seems to answer to Buddy, so that's what we are calling him. Buddy is a very cute
guy, with a flashy teddy bear kind of face. He LOVES to play with squeaky toys and ball. It seems
like this guy is a real character. His appetite seems good. He knows sit, paw and down. Pictures
and more information to follow as we get to know this good boy better
