UPDATED 12/12/04 - Bailey is doing fantastic....she is such
a great addition to our family. She is too cute for words and we love her
to death! She is so spoiled, too! Not much new to write about- the usual
walks, trips to the park, etc...we are hoping to continue dog class again in
the winter. She comes with us everywhere and we are looking forward to our
first real "road trip"....
UPDATED - Here's a quick update on Bailey. Bailey continues to be a wonderful addition to our
family. She has gotten use to our routines for going to work and school. Bailey will wait by the
gate until the kids get off the bus and always grets me at the door when I get home. Bailey went to
the Vet a few weeks ago for a routine check up and her rabies shot, and she is very healthy and
super friendly with the staff at ARDDA. The Holidays are around the corner and the kids can't
wait to make a stocking for Bailey and stuff with with new toys and treats.
UPDATED 4/26/04 - Believe it or not, this month FLEW by....Bailey is doing great meeting new
people and really enjoys being at the park. She has a "thing" when meeting new dogs, although
most people at the park are willing to work with us and she settles down quickly. I have to
knowck on wood, but my cat Jak has been getting quite brave lately. There is still the chase game,
but Bailey seems much less interested now. She still randomly heads upstairs to seek them out, but
not to the degree she used to. Overall Bailey is doing fantastic and we absolutely love having her
as part of our family.
UPDATED 5/10/04 - I must admit I was a little worried adopting a young boxer. But after
meeting Bailey and bringing her home, adopting Bailey was the best decision I ever made. Bailey
came in the house greeting everyone in the household with her tail wagging and licking
everyone especially the children. My son insists on sleeping with Bailey in her new bed, but Bailey
prefers to sleep in his bed. Yeah, she's a smart one. Bailey loves to play with her new toys,
especially the one plush bone my daughter picked out for her. Bailey had her first doctor visit on
Friday, April 30th, and Dr K. confirmed she is very healthy, and healing well from her surgery.
Bailey started on her heart worm prevention tablets and flea medication and Bailey
will begin obedience class on May 26, 2004.
UPDATED 4/23/04 - Hello! Just a quick note on Bailey- she is doing *great*! We've had some
"fun" adjusting to our two kittens, but Bailey is learning to leave them alone and we are adjusting
just fine. After a successful day at the "people park," we ventured out into the dog park world- she
is a dream! She loves to race and she's such an instigator! She pounces around other dogs hoping
to start a chase! She doesn't bark at new people or dogs anymore- only took two days! She
even joined us last night at our friend's for our weekly "Sopranos" night- she sniffed around
for the first couple of minutes and then just laid down right at our feet and hung out the whole time!
We need doggie class soon- Bailey listens so well, EXCEPT when there is someone/something to
distract her! We're hoping our loving voice can take priority over squirrels, people, etc in the
future!! LOL! Anyway- hope that all is well in the boxer
world...Bailey is doing just fine!
UPDATED 4/16/04 - Bailey has been adopted!
