UPDATED 5/2/04 - We have just celebrated our 2 month anniversary with Miss
Babygirl and she is more loveable and spoiled since our last update.  Babygirl is
such a sweetie and is loved by all.  She now has a boyfriend (a 5 year old brindle)
where my boys go for baseball lessons. They love to play and run around together.
She really is very popular with everyone she meets.  Her human grandparents have
threatened to "kidnap" her and bring her their house.  So, when they come to visit, I
watch them very carefully!  We recently got a fence installed and Babygirl is
enjoying the freedom to run, as well as the exercise.  We hope to complete our
Obedience Classes this Tuesday.  However, we will not be graduating Magna or
Summa Cum Laude. Babygirl was more into socializing than learning.  So we will
just eke out a passing grade.  After 2 months in her forever home, Babygirl seems
to be very happy and has adjusted to all the different schedules we currently have.
She eats well(2x a day)and puts herself to bed when she is tired. What more could
one ask for?  We have become very attached to her and realize how lucky we are
to have her.  We hope to have some pictures of this beautiful girl soon.

UPDATED 4/1/04 - Babygirl has adjusted very nicely to her forever home.  The
first week she was on her best behavior.  Now 3 weeks later, she is very much at
home.  She counter surfs in the kitchen.  My two boys say that Babygirl looks like a
waitress at a diner taking orders when she is at the counter.  She also likes to grab
their stuffed animals off their beds every chance she gets.  Babygirl is lovable and
playful.  She just wants to be loved and makes sure she is.  We go for lots of rides
in the car and once a week, we travel to the pet store for goodies.
Babygirl had a physical when she had her sutures removed.  The Vet said that she
was very healthy, but needed to gain a few more pounds.  She is now eating
Fromm's Chicken and Vegetables alternating with Duck and Potato.  The food
seems to agree with her.  The one thing she will not be getting again is a "bully
stick".  She absolutely loved it, but for the rest of the family it left a smog of noxious
fumes throughout our house.  It turns out any rawhide product does that to her.  On
April 12th, we will finally be getting our fence installed, which will provide Miss
Babygirl with the exercise and running she has been lacking.
We have just completed week 3 of our obedience training.  I don't know who is
more tired, Babygirl or me.  Babygirl is quite social in class, thus she has become
the problem student.  The teacher assures me that this is typical of boxers.  I just
hope we don't have to go to summer school to make this class up.
In the month that Babygirl has been here, we have grown to love her more and
more each day.  She is such an enriching addition to our home.

Babygirl has been adopted!

2/26/04 Hello again from the Jumping Bean
Jungle.  Babygirl is back home now from her trip to the vet.  She is
now spayed and UTD on vaccines.  She had a really good appetite this
morning and I will be feeding her three meals a day while she is with us.
She weighed in at 51# at the vets which is light for her.  She needs to
fill out quite a bit!
We truly love this girl and she is going to be a wonderful delight to
some family who wants not only a playmate and loyal friend, but a loving
and giving lapdog as well.  If this Baby has any issues we have not
found them.  Other than needing to hone her basic commands (i.e., sit,
down, come, stay, off) she is really well behaved and appreciates any
affection you give her.  Her favorite passtime is lying on the couch beside
you with her head on you and just being with you.

2/24/04 Hey there!  Babygirl here, and I
just want to say that I am a girl who just wants to have fun.  I really
like playing with my resident four-legged friends here, Axle and Balou.
I'm not really a pushy girl so I get along great with Axle, who told me
that he is the boss here.  I had no problems with that!  Little Balou
is just the craziest guy on four legs and we play and play and play til
we can't play anymore!  We like chewey-face and chase the best.  I also
like playing with my two-legged friend, Danny, who is six.  He is a lot
fun to be with!
I am a little on the skinny side and fostermom says I need to eat more,
so I am trying really hard!  There is just so much to see and do,
though, and I forget that I need to go eat!  I also like to take my time
outside.  A lady can't be rushed, you know, when she powders her nose.
Fostermom says I should prefer a fenced-in yard since that is what I am
used to and it is for my own safety as well.  I like to run and run and
a fenced-in yard is the best place to do that!
You know.  I just had the strangest experience this morning!  I
couldn't wait to tell you about it.  Here in my fosterhome, there are these
two little things covered with feathers.  They live in this big white
cage, you see.  Well, I just wanted to say hello to these little things
and I put my front paws on their cage and WOW!!!  Oh my goodness, they
went beserk and feathers flew all over the place.  Even in my mouth.
Phooey, they were a little bland--plbbbbb.  But all the ruckus!  Who would
have thought these two little things would go so nuts?  Oh.  Yeah.
Fostermom came running and yelling, "NO Babygirl!  NO-NO!  Get away from
the birds!!"    Who knew?   Well, I better go find out what Balou is up
to.  He's been awful quiet while I was here talking to you.  See you
later!

2/21/04 Babygirl has been here several hours now and has settled in like she lives
here all the
time!  Babygirl is approximately 14 months old and is an owner surrender.  She is
fawn wtih lots of white flash, docked tail, and natural ears.  This girl has the very
best disposition we have seen in a foster in a while.  She is getting along just fine
with our 6yr old male Boxer, Axle, and one year old Boston, Balou.
Babygirl and Balou ran and chased and played for about two hours straight, now
we are all resting and quiet.  There are at this point, no food issues with Babygirl.
We can handle her ears, mouth, toys, feet, etc.  She played on the floor with
"Daddy" and our 6yr old son, Danny and there wasn't even a play growl out of her!
She just played so gently.  She has explored the house extensively and has not
bothered anything or been rough with anything at all.  She is crate trained and seems
to answer the Sit command ok, but stay and down need some work.  I am sure she
will settle in and those commands will come right along.
