10/13/03 Wilson has been adopted.

10/6/03 Unfortuately Wilson has been returned to rescue. He was a little to pushy for the
other male in the home. Even though they never had a fight his new family felt that he was
making the other dog very uncomfortable. They truely loved him and were very sad to
bring him back. Wilson has gained some much need weight and looks great. He is
wonderful will people of all ages and enjoys attention. Wilson loves to ride in the car and
is so proud to sit up front. His housebreaking is under control and he no longer has
accidents. He has been perfect with the other 7 dogs here. No issues at all. He truely
needs a home that can give him lots of love and attention that he deserves. Are you the
special home for Wilson??

9/27/03 Wilson has been adopted.

9/9/03 We've had a few more days here without any accidents for Wilson!  Yeah!  Since
he is so well-mannered in every other way, it is hard to imagine what had made it dificult
for him to learn the house 'bathroom rules'.  I'm glad he seems to really be catching on at
last.  I wonder if he had just always been 'walked' and had no idea about roaming loose
and 'toileting'.  As the days go by he gets more and more playful. He even tries to get
Rocky to play. He is a jumper--he can jump straight up in the air like his legs have springs
on themk, and he does that when he's really excited.  Like when I come home from work
and he's happy to see me.  He can also easily jump over the baby gate that seperates the
kitchen from the rest of the house.  Of course he only does that when he's been left away
from the people.  HE much prefers to be right with his people and his canine companions.
Last night he got to sleep in my bed with me and Tika, and he was great.  Nice and
warm and quiet and comfy to cuddle with.  (It was a cold night here in Maine, and it's
expected to be even colder tonight.  He likes to cuddle on the couch, too.
9/2/03 Wilson just keeps getting better and better!  His cockeyed, tongue-hanging-out
grin is just too cute, and he is such a happy guy.  He is so playful that I find it hard to
beleive the vet thought he was five or six. He keeps up with the 2 year old here Wilson
has been moved into a smaller crate (when he is crated) and has not had any accidents in
the house for 3 days!  I have also been 'walking' him on a leash in the backyard for his
last nightime toileting.  It may be that he had never had the chance to roam around a big
yard to 'do his business'.  Especially when I think about how perfectly he behaves when
on a leash, I wonder if he may have been a city dog who was always 'walked'.  We went
for a walk with a friend last evening, and she was amazed at his wonderful leash manners.
He does not pull at all--and while he evidences some anxiety at meeting dogs while
leashed, he calms down right away and is happy to continue on a walk.  Happy--that is
definitely the word for Wilson!  He likes everyone he meets-- man, woman, boy, girl or
canine-- and wants to be your friend.

8/15/03 We forgot to tell you that Wilson met the resident kitty--Tiger--and she let him
get right in her face to say hello.  And then he wandered out of the room, with no further
interest in her!  So cats would definitely be OK with him!  Like I said, we think he is
wonderful!

8/15/03 Wilson is part of my Boxer family--he has graduated from being crated at night
to sleeping in my bedroom with all of us.  HE is a very good boy and we are enjoying him
tremendously.  He had is bath, and is much happier (and so are we).  He resisted the tub
a tiny bit (perhaps he'd never been in one?) but was fine once he was in and being bathed.
He didn't mind the water, soaping, or drying one bit.  In fact, he seemed to appreciate it
all as one more way of being petted and loved!  Our only issue, and one that time will
take care of, is his need to 'mark', even inside.  I call it 'spritzing', and we had another
'spritz' this morning.  The first since his first day here.  Thank goodness for white vinegar
and enzyme products!  (And the extra cleaning is good for my floors!) He is otherwise,
the perfect dog, with no issues whatsoever, and we know that as his hormones disappear,
so will his 'spritzing'. (He reminds me so much of my Rocky when we adopted him at the
age of five, who is now going strong and in excellent health at nearly twelve.) Wilson's
pictures don't do him justice--he is absolutely gorgeous, with a classic underbite and short
jaw, and wonderful flash markings.  We also think that his protruding tongue is
adorable--although we doubt that a judge in the showring would agree!  Maybe he is the
perfect dog for you!?!

8/13/03 Wilson and I took our first neeighborhood stroll.  And he was wonderful!  He
walks without pulling at all, with just a regular collar.  HE did react to the one other dog
we saw, but calmed down and behaved himself with a little reprimand. He did not react at
all to the humans we passed walking and jogging.  He has settled in here very nicely and
really likes being petted and fussed over.  He is still spending nights in his crate, and he
goes in and settles down with hardly a sound.  HE's so quiet in his crate that you wouldn't
know he was there.  In fact, this morning my son got up before me (a highly unusual
occurance) and was in the kitchen are while Wilson was still crated fom the night before.
When I came into the kitchen I asked if he'd been let out (to go to the bathroom).  My
son asked who--and then bent down and peered in the crate and realized WIlson was in
it!

8/11/03 Well, Wilson and Sandi met and are just fine.  I picked up Wilson's dewormer
and administered it.  He enjoyed the rewarding followup Velveeta cheese, but did not
enjoy the dewormer!  He has not had any food issues here--except that would like to a
counter-surfer--we'll try not to give him the opportunity! That makes sense as he was a
strya and had probably been fending for himself for a while before he came intoRescue.
he was quite skinny.  (He isn't skinny, he's just right.)  A funny thing happened here.  My
son put him in the crate while serving supper.  I was in the cellar doing lau When moments
later I came up, I looked in the crate.  And inside were TWO Brindle Boxers!  And quite
comfortable appearing!  Apparently Tika had gone into that crate to rest--she likes
crates--and my son didn't see her in there when he put Wilson in!  That's what a good
boy he is!  They're both out now, as we are done eating.

What a happy fellow Wilson is! And his pictures don't do him justice--he is a real looker!
Just on our ride home yesterday he had three people stop to compliment on his good
looand his good manners.  He is wonderful on a leash, and loves everyone--but greets
new people calmly and sedately ith all four paws on the ground and a ready sit.  He has
shown us he knows how to use a crate, go outside to 'go hurry', and be near you in the
house.  HE investigated our yard, spritzing urine everywhere anyone else had ever gone.
(I wonder how males can hold enough to mark everywhere.  I am always reminded of the
Disney movie Homeward Bound where Chance is in the woods ) We'll head up to the vet
today for deworming medicine, and I can guarantee that everyone in the office will be
entranced by him.

8/10/03 Wilson has arrived in Kennebunk at the Riverview!  He is a love-bug and
cuddler and has already met the rresidents here.  Sandi will have to wait to be introduced
because she was not thriled to smell him through the babygate--he was wagging his nub
and she had raissed hackles and a low growl!  He needs a bath and a deworming.

8/9/03 Wilson continues to be great. He has put on some much needed weight, to the
point we have to be careful now. He is getting a little chunky. Wilson is fabulous with the
other 6 dogs here, he shares his water bowl no problem. His food bowl is another story.
He likes to eat alone. Wilson is completely housebroken and great in his crate. He loves
to play and go for rides. Wilson is good with everyone he meets and is really ready for a
home of his own. Is it you? You will not be sorry with this boy, he is a good one.

I picked up a sweet little guy today at a local shelter. Wilson is a flashy brindle guy. He
weighs only 47 pounds. He does need to put on a little weight. He was found as a stray
and no one came looking for him. He seems to be in pretty good health. He is being
treated for worms and needs to gain some weight.
Wilson rode wonderfully in the car and loved my son. He walks great on the leash.
Wilson went through a full temperment test at the shelter and passed with flying colors. He
does need a push into the crate but is then very quiet. We are going to give him a bath in
the am (Boy, does he need it) and make an appointment for his nip and tuck. He also
needs a little dental work that we will have done at the same time. I will let you know
more as we get to know him. He might just be the sweet little guy you are looking for.
Lots of kisses to go around.
