7/6/03 Sassy has been adopted!

7/2/03  Little Miss "SassyFrass" will be going to her forever home very soon...she had a minor
grade mast cell tumor removed from her chest area and the doctor was very, very pleased with
the results and said it came out clean....Sassy will be very much missed at the Upperfield...she is
our very own "Tiny Dancer"....All you have to do is look at Sassy and she's doing a wiggle butt
dance. Let's hear a big round of applause for the spirit shown by this lovely little lady..through
out her heartworm treatments and now her surgery...nothing can get her down!!!!! Yeah
Sassy!!!! We love you "little pretty one"!!

6/11/03- Sassy has completed her final heartworm treatment and is ready for her forever
home...She is a wonderful little girl and will make a great companion for someone special....I call
her "Sassy Frass" because she is very full of herself and wiggling her fanny all over the place.
When released from her crate she does a flying tour of the whole downstairs before coming to us
for pats and praises. All you have to do is look at Sassy and she starts to wiggle. She gets along
with all my dogs and is also very gentle with my two year old human child. I think that she has
been around children in her past. I call her my little "dancing girl"...In fact, all three of my fosters
are female and are known as the "chorus line" and the "little dancing girls"...they wiggle and
waggle all over the house. Get your applications in for this sweetheart...she's really special!!!

5/14/03- Sassy had her second treatment today with no bad reactions. She came home on
antibiotics to stave off any infection as she seems to be very sick and stiff. ( If I was injected
twice in my back muscles,I'd be stiff and sore too!) Now comes the difficult task of keeping her
quiet for a few weeks to let the treatment do it's trick. Sassy is a mover and a shaker and will not
be happy to stay still for long. She ate very good tonight which is an excellent sign. And her little
stubby tail was going a mile a minute. Not yet ready for any butt wiggles though. Stay tuned, this
pretty boxer baby is on the mend now and will be ready for her forever home soon.....get your
applications in, this little girl is super!

5/13/03-Sassy spent last night at the vet's to begin treatments. I called at noon and she had a
bad reaction to the injection. A huge lump formed on her back and she immediately got very sick
and hyper. Dr. Steve gave her some meds to calm her down. She is coming out of it now and
the vet feels that she will be ready for her next injection tomorrow. The lump has disappeared.
Dr Steve has decided to keep her overnight tonight also for observation.

5/7/03- Sassy has moved into her foster home and will be starting her heartworm treatments.
She is a lovely little girl and is getting along great with everyone she meets. She is very thin and
has been diagnosed with hookworm. She isn't very keen on her medication and tries to spit it
right back out. This is lots of fun as it's bright yellow and she manages to get it all over the walls
& floors. Dr. Steve will be starting her heartworm treatments next Tuesday and we will try to get
a little more weight on her meanwhile

4/26/03-Sassy has had a very long ride from a shelter in West Virginia into a temporary foster
home. Her foster mom picked her up on her way home from New Mexico....She would like to
send Elaine a great big hug !!She enjoyed her trip. Sassy is heartworm positive and will begin
treatments at one of our favorite vet's shortly. More to come as we get to know this sweet little
flashy fawn girl with natural ears and a docked tail.
