9/10/03 - Nemo is pending adoption!
9/10/03 - We got a good look at Nemo's teeth the other night & based on how those
look & the fact he is so well developed with muscles & his weight & body shape, we
determined Nemo is more like 2 1/2 years old that the 12 months we originally were told
he was. He was neutered & microchipped today, weighed only 50 solid pounds (less
than I thought) & was updated on all his shots & was heartworm negative too. The vet
did find a low grade heart murmur of grade 2, but he is very healthy otherwise. Nemo is
spending the night at the vet's until we can get him back to my home.
9/7/03 - Did you have trouble finding Nemo? He's here! Nemo arrived today at the Pet
Rock thanks to Deb & her family. He is a GORGEOUS 1 year old brindle boy with
natural ears, docked tail & a perfectly built body & face. He has very nice markings &
lots of white on his chest, neck & front legs. Nemo did great meeting all the strangers at
the Pet Rock & even all the dogs--not one bad word or action from him at all. He loved
everybody & did great with the kids that were there too.
Nemo rode wonderfully in the car for the almost 3 hours until we got home & he just
curled up & slept. He didn't seem to want to pay attention to my cats when he first came
into the house, but that is not always a good sign this early, so I will watch to see how he
does with them as he settles in. I just put him in his crate to settle down & he went in ok
with a treat & a little shove, but he is crying a little about it. Hopefully Nemo will settle
down soon as he's had a very long day & needs some rest. He will be neutered & have
all his shots updated hopefully sometime this week. Pictures to come soon & more
