not sure you all knew or not but max passed away in feb 2004 because he escaped and got hit
by a car. it was instant. no suffering. just wanted to let you all know that he is playing with
princess and boomer. boomer just joined them a couple of days ago.

10/2/03  UPDATED - max is doing good. his constant nagging of my coonhound to play has
trasformed my coonhound. She actually likes to play now wich was unheard of before. They get
along great, except if my coonhound has a rawhide or bone. they could drink and eat at thje
same time in the same bowl and be fine. They have faught maybe twice all cause of my
conehound's "bone aggression." Otherwise they are fine, well besides the fact that they schedual
play time and hour before the alarm clock is supposed to go off and of caurse right at bedtime.

08/28/03 - UPDATED - Max has been adjusting well he is very playful and just goes wild if you
have left him in the house alone even if it's for only five minutes. We will be starting obedience
next week and hopefully that will stop him from jumping on everyone, and maybe the appetite he
has for blinds open or closed.

7/26/03 Max has been adopted!

7/25/03 Max is pending adoption!

7/19/03 Finally an update on Max! He is doing fabulous, we absolutely love him. As you see
from the pic above, he has relaxed considerably! He really enjoys the company of the other dogs
and seems to be much more confident with them around. We can leave him loose with the other
dogs for an hour or two with no issues. He still needs to be a person most of the time, but he is
improving every day. he is a funny little guy and very amusing. He loves playing and wrestling
with the other dogs and crashes with them on the couch or dogbeds when he's tired. We
dropped into an obedience class and he did really well, still needs lots of practice, but he's a
smart boy. If you have some friendly dogs and are around most of the time, Max would love to
be one of your crew!!

6/24/03- Hi everybody, Max has made hs way to the Last Resort here in Maine! Max does not
like to be left alone, he gets very scared and we decided it would be  less stressful for him to be
with someone all day instead of trying to crate or contain him which is only making things more
uncomfortable for him.
He goes to work with me along with two of my own dogs; today was his second day there and
he has relaxed 100% since yesterday now that he knows the routine. He is wonderful wth all of
the other boxers here (3 other males and 2 females, all ages). I think he is comfortable in a
"pack" and gains some much needed confidence from having them around. It's appears that  he
has been ignored and shuffled around some, and needs to rebuild his trust in people. He is an
extremely smart little guy, I think that is often the case for dogs who hate to be alone. Max needs
a family...a real family with people, dogs, activity and someone always around to care for him.
He needs a home where if his "parents" go to work or go away, there is still someone there he
knows to care for him, and hopefully another self confident dog to be his friend.
Max has a wonderful personality. He's cute, smart, curious and playful...and he is trying SO hard
to belong. If you think you could be his forever home and provide Max with the encouragement
and patience he deserves, please let us know!!

5/26/03 - After one week, Max seems to have adjusted very well. He is friendly, easy going and
great with children and strangers. He eats well, sleeps well and is housebroken. So far so good
except: He has severe anxiety when crated. He has escaped from a plastic Pet Porter(by
chewing through it) and from a metal one(I know not how). He has actually bent tne bars on the
metal crate. Stay tuned for more updates soon.5/18/03 - "Max" our first foster has settled in
beautifully.  He is a stray from a nice shelter we work with.  Max is fawn with a black mask,
natural ears & a docked tail & is about 2 years old.  After his bath he smelled sooo much better.
He is such a sweetheart and a joy.  Please watch for more updates on Max soon!
