UPDATE 7/4/06 - The pictures are of Mandy- We've been loved by her for 3 years now !!July
3,2003. It doesn't seem possible. She is a joy. My sister says she is a person in a dog body. She
is loved by everyone in our family. She enjoys camping and is wonderful with the little kids- she
is very gentle with children. She still has leash aggression, but it's manageable. She rules the
neighborhood from our deck. She loves to ride in the back of the Subaru. We love her very
much.I would like to say a special thanks to Jackie and Dan who never gave up on Mandy or
me. They are wonderful.Thank you to all of SCBR for all the energy you put in to the boxers,
but most of all thank you for our baby, Mandy.

UPDATE 7/3/04 - It doesn't seem possible Mandy has been with us for a year-It does seem
like she's always been a part of my life. She is doing well. We still have issues with leash
aggression. She
is wonderful when off the leash, but when the leash is on and she sees another dog it is
like the devil arrived. We work on this. I had taken her to a behaviorlist named Susan Simmons
we did several sessions and worked on different goals. She beleives Mandy was attacked at
some
point while on a leash/rope, something. Mandy still goes crazy when the doorbell rings. As
you know obedience training was a terrible ordeal for Mandy. The women (Kim)put us behind
tables which were sideways- to block our view from other dogs. Mandy was crazy.
We had scheduled private lessons with Kim- but she never showed up. she did give me $50.00
back from $70.00. And was very anoyed with me,because I had gone to her house after waiting
1/2 hr. for her to show up.If it sounds like I'm still angry about this I am. I was very excited
about her having private lessons. We live in a small town, there are no other trainers. Mandy
knows her basic commands-which I taught her to sit, stay, come and leave-it. She is very good
outside. We don't have a fenced in yard, but she rearly goes out of our yard. Mandy and I walk
every morning together and many times in the evening. She uses a gentel leader. I love Mandy for
the way she is, yes she is hyper at times, but we all are. I think in about a year Mandy will be
a wonderful companion. She has grown so much over the year. She is wonderful with small
children,
my great neice (3 yrs) comes to visit Mandy. She doesn't jump on little people. Children love her.
I would like to send a special thanks to Jackie and Dan. They are wonderful, they have given so
much support over the last year. When my husbands father died and we went to P.R. they took
Mandy
for the entire time we went. Also I have called Jackie many times with questions or in frustration.
They love Mandy also. Thank you to everyone in SCBR.

6/24/03 Mandy continues to settle in to her foster home and has learned many new things.  She
is a busy little girl who loves to be on the go.  She plays very nice with the other dogs and will
play with the big dogs as much and as long as they want to play.  We call her the energizer
bunny.  She just keeps going and going.  She will tire everyone else out and then find herself a
toy, a ball or just a marrow bone and will occupy herself very nicely.  She is a good girl in her
crate and is in there during the work day with no problems.  You just have to make sure you
have a peanut butter filled marrow bone and don't try to fool her either with just a dog treat
because she doesn't buy it.  She makes me laugh when I quickly need to put her in there and I
grap a small treat instead, I end up picking her up and placing her in the crate.  She is a smaller
size boxer but you would never know it.  She keeps right up there.  She doesn't have any trouble
going to sleep at night and once she finds out we are all going to bed, she is one of the first ones
in the bedroom and goes to sleep immediately.  Mandy loves to be loved and will sit by your
side and ask for her neck to be scratched and if you stop, she'll raise her foot to remind you of
what you were doing.  She is a smart little cookie.  Mandy likes to be aware of what is
happening outside of her home and will let you know when something is abnormal but if you
speak to her, she will stop.  Mandy enjoys her fenced in area and loves to be playing in it.  She
will come immediately once you call her.  Mandy has alot of good qualities and she is a love.
She is so good at taking treats gently and waits patiently for her turn.  She is actually very good
with children and wants to be with them when they visit our home.  Mandy needs patience with
her training and consistancy.  You have to be one step ahead of her and once she realizes that
she is not the boss, she will do anything that you want her to.  She is young and needs obedience
training.  She does well here as she seems to follow from the other dogs.  I have really high
hopes that Mandy will get the right family for her.  She wants to be your best friend but she just
needs some extra help getting there.  We love her and feel she has so many good traits.  We
have started her with her training and you will have the satisfaction of seeing her grow and
develop into the great boxer that she is.  Mandy's beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  She is
just a sweetheart.

Mandy continues to do well at her foster home. She is a busy busy girl. She is eating well and
will usually finish her bowl twice a day. Mandy will sleep on her bed at night in our bedroom but
will usually come up and visit for just a few minutes when we all first go to bed. She is getting
along with all 4 legged friends here at her foster home. She loves playing outside and will play for
hours running and wrestling with her foster brothers and sisters. Mandy didn't do well on the
invisible fence at her previous home but does do well in a fenced in area. Mandy is very
protective of her surroundings and we are working on her behavior on a leash and while in the
yard. Mandy needs a constant reminder of what you expect of her. She is very happy to do it or
correct her behavior but you have to stay on her. Again, Man! dy will benefit greatly from
obedience training. Mandy loves people and children and is very gentle when taking a treat and
she loves to snuggle while relaxing. I call Mandy a work in progress. She needs to be reminded
that you are the boss and what you expect of her. She knows a few commands and will come
and sit very nicely. She is patient and will wait her turn. Mandy will do well in her new home who
will continue to work with her and make her a big part of their life. We are working with Mandy
on a gentle leader and it is helping. I really believe in my heart that she will do fine in any home
that is consistant with training and have some patience while she is learning. She is going to take
some work but looking at what she will become will give someone much satisfaction. She is a
very loving little dog and will always be grateful for her second chance.

04/15/03-Mandy is doing just fine at her foster home. She is now with all her foster brothers and
sisters and is getting along well with all of them. She sure does have alot of energy and is still
playing when everyone else has decided to take a rest. I believe that she remembers all her
friends here at her foster home and it seems like she has been here all along. It did take a little
work for her to meet our other foster who is also a little dominate like Mandy but they play alot
now and have had no issues. It seems like Mandy has trouble meeting other dogs while on a
leash. Alot of dogs have this and her new adoptive family will have to work and train with her on
dealing with this. Obedience training will be important to get her over this. She is very strong and
I have ordered a gentle leader to work with her while she is here. I had one but one of my
previous fosters needed it when he went home and I haven't had a need for it until now. Mandy
is eating twice daily and is doing better everytime she eats. She loves her peanut butter filled
marrow bone and will go right in her crate during the day with no issues. She is sleeping in our
bedroom on her bed, is a good girl and sleeps all night. Mandy has had no accidents and I
believe is completely housebroken. Mandy loves toys and she will entertain herself for quite
awhile. Mandy will listen and really wants to please. You just have to guide her on what you
want or don't want her to do. Mandy is good with children and lived with a little boy at her
previous home. She takes treats very nice and very gently. Mandy does well in our fenced in
yard. Mandy will be a nice addition to any home. She will need patience, and training that is
consistant everyday. She is certainly deserving of another chance to become part of someone's
life! . She is just a cutie.

04/12/03-Mandy has been returned to rescue and arrived today at her foster home. She had
developed some bad habits in her home and they thought it would be better for her to come
back into rescue. So this sweet girl is back with her foster mom and dad and six boxer siblings.
The Boxer'In is very full but we knew we had to help her again. Mandy's biggest problem is that
she is a normal 1 1/2 yr old girl with lots of energy and no obedience. This is the perfect example
of why we have in our adoption contracts that all dogs must go to obedience class. It's good for
the dog and good for the new owners. All dogs really need this and they are better pets on
account of it and as owners we learn how we can help our dogs. It's a learning experience for
everyone. Mandy has been very well taken care of and is still the sweet girl that she always was.
Mandy will need patience as she adjusts to being back in her foster home and to make her
understand that she is not the top dog. She will do fine and will be ready for adoption soon as
she learns the abc's of correct behavior. She is still cute as a button and we are expecting good
progress from Mandy and have no doubt that she will find her forever home.

UPDATE 4/12/03- Mandy has been returned to rescue and has made it to her foster home. She
is working on getting settled which is going to be a little work for her. She is a 16 month old
white spayed female with natural ears and docked tail. She has a patch on one eye and a nice
spot of fawn on her side. She is cute and I'll have an updated picture later. She was retuned to
rescue because she kept going through the invisible fence and was too much for the family who
had another young boxer in the house. So we'll work on finding her a new home soon.
