9/28/03 UPDATED - Hi everyone, Kelli here.  Well after a very long car ride from New
Jersey I found myself in Maine and now have a boxer sister, Annabelle; a boxer brother,
Magoo; a boston brother, Bubba; and a pekingese brother, Kabuki.  I am really content
here, but still worry sometimes that I will again have to move on.  I go outside at night (we
have a dogdoor) so I won't be in the way, but Mom tells me to stop worrying, that I am here
for the long haul, and to get myself inside and go to bed with the rest of the group.  Actually,
now that it is getting chilly outside, I listen to here a lot quicker.  That is probably a good idea
because they tell me it can get very cold outside in the winter in Maine.  I know I should stop
worrying and just enjoy my new family.  It really is pretty here and the meadow is a great
place to wander around in.  Thanks to all the lovely folks who cared for me and brought me
to Maine.  Thank you, Love Kelli.

7/31/03 Kelli has been adopted!

7/25/03 Kelli is pending adoption!

6-27-03 Kelli is now here for a week and is doing wonderful.  The sadness in her eyes has
gone away.  I think she is greatfull for her second chance.  On Tuesday her and Katie got
eye to eye and had a fight.  I rushed Kelli to the vet, and here she had a tumer in her mouth
which opened up during the fight.  She had to stay overnight for surgery the next day.  It was
just as well because she also had other masses on her body which needed to be removed.
She had all her blood work done and also got all her shots.  She is hearworm and limes
negative.  She is the best foster I have had yet. We will all be sorry to see her leave on
Sunday. Kelli at one time was very well takein care of.  She is very well trained, she will not
go out the door, unless you tell her to come.  My little 8 year old can walk her around the
block and never have to worry about her pulling, she walks right by your side and stops
when you stop, watches to see which way you turn.  If I drop the leash she will not move.
Everybody who comes in the door, she goes up to, no jumping, just the knob going crazy.  I
had a 4 and 2 year old here yesterday, she just stood next to them and let them pet her, she
was great with them.  She is 8 and now weighs 55 lbs.  She could stand to gain a few more
lbs.  My observaation of Kelli is that she will do great in any home.  Her and Rocky are fine
together, her and Katie on the other hand have that female thing going.  Not sure if it is all
Katie or both.  But I beleive if Kellit was to stay here in time they would get along fine.  Kelli
will be leaving us on Sunday to go to Maine to her permanet foster home, we will all surely
miss her especially me.  If  we were not moving to a short term apartment, with a two dog
limit I would of keep her.  If you are looking for a sweet lovable companion Kelli is the one
for you.  Look for more updates from Maine.

6-19-03 - Kelli arrived at KatieRock Lodge late Tuesday night.  She will only be with us for
a short time and then she will be moving to her permanent foster home.  She is a fawn with a
black mask, cropped ears and docked tail.  I believe she is about 7 or 8 years old.  She has
tar marks on her body and many lumps and bruises.  She is also very thin and could stand to
gain about 20 lb.  My guess is she weighs about 40-45 lb.  She was rescued from a kill
shelter in the nick of time.  Nancy and her family rescued her and brought her to me.
Nancy's son named her Kelli, (with and I), I have to agree it suits her just fine.  She is very
sweet and loving.  She has the sweetest, saddest eyes I have ever seen.  I took her to work
with me yesterday, and everybody loved her.  Everybody at work agreed she is their favorite
of all the fosters I have brought to work.  She rides well in the car, is housebroken, leash
trained, and doesn't really seem to bother with the resident boxers.  She likes to just lay by
your side.  I really don't even have to use a leash on her outside, she doesn't wander.  When
she came here she was pretty stinky, so I gave her a bath last night, she was a perfect lady.
I haven't yet heard her bark, just some low growls at Katie, but that is the female thing.  Her
and Katie have had a few tangles, but then again that is who is boss. She has been eating
great. She is so calm and isn't a jumper, that she should be fine with a family with small
children.  If I wasn't moving to temporary housing with a two dog limit, I would keep her in a
heart beat.  If you are looking for a sweet calm companion, KELLI is the girl for you.  Look
for more updates from her new foster home.
