UPDATE 9/27/06 - Miss IdaBoo is just the most perfect dog in all the world!!  The
neighborhood kids just adore her and actually come over to ask if she can come out to
play!!  I take her everywhere with me and right now one of those places is my son's
soccer practice & games.  Last Saturday as she was laying at my feet at the game, the
ball came whizzing by and she caught it between her feet!!  Everyone came up and
congratulated her on her great soccer skills and she was all happy with her nubbin' going
a million miles a second :)  She will be turning 8 y/o in a few weeks, but you'd never
know it.  She has absolutely no grey on her face at all and is always ready to play when
you are.  She loves her frisbee and squeaky newspaper for chasing outside and her
canvas toy for inside.  We are going to Florida in another 2 weeks, so she will be
staying with my husband's father & his choc lab, so not only will Ida have another dog
to play with (and they get along so beautifully), but she will be spoiled to pieces as
grampy thinks she's quite a special dog--well...YEAH!!  Ida pretty much has grampy
wound around her sweet little paws!!  I'll miss her so much, but I know she'll have a
fantastic time.  I am blessed to have her in my life and I owe that to SCBR as without
them, I would not have her with me.  Thank you so much SCBR!!

UPDATED 10-17-04 - It has been one year since we've adopted the love of my
life-IdaBoo.  She is as wonderful today as she was when we brought her home!!  We
celebrated her birthday on October 16th (she turned 6!!) and all our neighbors came
with gifts!!!  She wore her ScoobyDoo party hat and wore her new sweater and really
enjoyed her doggie ice cream and extra bones!!!!  She definitely had a great time!!!
She didn't know just what to think when we all broke out into the Happy Birthday song;
she just tilted her head & looked at us like we'd all lost our minds!!!  I thank SCBR
every day for matching us up and hope that someday I can let them know just how
greatful I am for all they have done!!!

UPDATED 4/24/04 - IdaBoo continues to do AWESOME!!  There aren't any major
issues; aside from eating anything left on the counter if we go away without her, she's an
absolute angel!!!  She's still quite nervous meeting new people, mostly men it seems, but
after a few minutes or a few visits she acts like she's known them forever doing the
boxer wiggle!!We cannot imagine our lives without her and she's so completely different
than our first boxer.  I thank SCBR each & every day for bringing us together-I wish
she would live to be 100 years old so I never have to say good-bye:(  Hopefully though
we'll have her around for several more years as she is as healthy as a horse!!!

UPDATED 1/19/04 - Ida continues to do extremely well.  We took her with us when
we went ice skating the other day and she had a blast chasing a chunk of ice up and
down the frozen pond!!!  She also had a bunch of fun romping through the snow and
watching it fly up in the air!  Although she had fun, I still think her favorite place to be is
curled up on the couch and she's even happier if someone is home (lucky for her, I
work at home, so someone is ALWAYS home, except for a couple hours on Saturday
and Sunday!)  Our Ida is definately a couch potato!

UPDATED 12/31/03 - Ida is the PERFECT boxer girl with wiggles and kisses for
everyone!!!  She is eating very well--no more throwing up!!  We figured out that she
likes to have a spoonful of canned food mixed with her dry food; and boy does she
gobble it up (she hardly takes a breath!!)  When she's done, I'm left with a spray of
food on the wall and floor!!  One thing I will say about our Ida Boo--she is one very
messy eater!!  She greets everyone at the door with wiggles; no barking, but let me tell
you, if you don't pay her any attention she'll start to howl at you!!  This always does the
trick and everyone bends down to kiss her and say how sorry they are for ignoring such
a beautiful girl!!!  She loves to sleep--she does it all day long and she loves to go for
rides!!  She had her picture taken with Santa at Petco and was the perfect angel.  They
couldn't believe how well behaved she was, even though there was a long line of
barking dogs in front of her!!  She gots lots of toys from Santa and she's always ready
for a game of you-throw-it-and-I'll-go-get-it!!  My husband has started spoiling her
rotten; to the point that Ida now believes that she deserves a treat EVERYTIME she
goes out to use the bathroom!!  Come to think of it, this might be why she's asking to go
out a little more frequently and also why she'll howl at me when we come back
inside!!!We all feel incredibly blessed that she is in our family!!

UPDATED 11/17/03 - Ida is doing extremely well here--we all love her soooo much!!!
We go to doggy obedience class every Monday and she's the perfect angel--after
much tugging on her gentle leader which she hates!!  She has been to the vet's--she has
an ear infection in both ears.  She's not too keen on her ear drops, but she's a trooper!!
She is still throwing up every morning though.  I take her out around 5 a.m. and she
does the three p's--pees, poops and pukes.  She will eat the grass until she vomits and if
I try to tug her away from the grass she pulls real hard to get to it.  If I manage to get
her inside, she gets anxious until she vomits inside.  The vet thought she might just be
nervous, but I don't really think so, because other than that she plays, sleeps and
protects.  I see no other problem.  If someone knows what I should do, please let me
know, I'd like to make her as comfortable as soon as possible!!

UPDATED 10/26/03 - Ida has settled in here so nicely you would think she's lived here
all her life!!  So far she has loved everyone she meets, especially the children!  There
have been no issues of any kind, although I am suspecting that she might have a touch of
seperation anxiety.  We haven't left her alone yet; except when I go out to get my mail.
Sometimes she'll whine and pace when I go outside.  She follows me everywhere
everytime I get up-even if she's asleep!!  It's like she must know where I am at any
given moment!!  This has gotten a little better since she first arrived though.  We will be
leaving her alone for the first time tomorrow evening as our first dog obedience class
starts at 7:00.  The fisrt class is about 1/2 an hour and we are not to bring the dogs; it's
an overview of what the class will teach and also a question and answer time for the
humans.  I am nervous about leaving her and I hope she does alright.  Otherwise, she is
the perfect dog!!  She loves to "talk" to us.  She does this by making a perfect circle
with her mouth and howling; all the while her little stub tail just wiggles!!  We've been
teaching her not to beg at the table and she's doing great with that.  I just tell her to go
lay down and she will; although sometimes she tries to sneak back in when she thinks
we're not paying attention!!  I am so thankful for her and my whole family just loves
her!!  My husband's parents are coming today to see their new granddaughter!!  They
have called us almost every day to see how things are going!!I think they'll get a kick
out of her when they see her sleeping with her tongue hanging out which it always does;
sleeping or not!!  My husband has told quite a few people at his work about our new
baby and one person stopped me while I was getting groceries to find out more about
SCBR.  It turns out his uncle used to raise champion boxers when he was just a little
boy and has always loved the breed!!  I gave him the web address and he's gonna
check it out!!Thank you SCBR for giving us Ida-she's a dream come true!!!

10/19/03 Ida has been adopted.

10/9/03 - Ida is a 5 year old fawn girl with cropped ears, docked tail & some white on
her face, neck & chest--I guess a "semi-flashy fawn".  She was very sadly surrendered
yesterday due to a divorce.   Ida lived with & was great with other dogs, both large &
small, & was great with kids of all ages & cats too.   Ida is a pretty girl & very friendly
too.  She has the cutest smile as her bottom teeth stick out with her underbite & her
tongue will stick out sometimes too!   Ida was well loved & only has about 5 lbs to lose
& she would be in great shape.  She will need to be spayed next week & to make sure
all her shots are up to date.  More updates & pictures soon on this sweet girl!
