8/7 Buster is pending adoption!
8/7 Buster had a great night with no problems, he slept next to my bed and everyone had a
good nights sleep, and he ate most of his breakfast without coaxing. He is going to the park
today, to see how well he gets along with younger children, mine are both teenaged boys and
they can handle any dog, but we want to see how Buster does with small children and toddlers.
It’s a nice sunny day, so there should be a bunch of kids around. He walks very well on a
leash as long as there are no cats around, then, hang on, cause he’s gonna pull!!! Wish him
luck.
8/6 Buster came home from his surgery a very subdued and quiet boxer boy, he did perk up
toward the end of the evening and was able to eat a little dinner. He will be sleeping in our
room for the first time tonight but I don’t think we will need the crate, he doesn’t
8/4 Well Buster has been here for two days now and while he is a lot less stressed than he
was, he still needs to be coaxed to eat and will not eat in his crate. He is still being “air liftedâ
€ into his crate and although appears to be fine when we leave the house (he appears relaxed
enough when we come back), he is still disconsolate and apprehensive if we are anywhere in
the house. I have been sleeping on the couch in the living room and putting him in for short
periods of time, at intervals, at night, when there are no distracting noises and movements. He
should graduate to being crated in the bedroom all night very soon. His little “snip and tuckâ
€ is scheduled for Wednesday AM and he may be a little “out of itâ€ and groggy, so
Wed night might be our test run. He is doing fairly well with the “boys. JR told him, in
no uncertain terms, that this “macho stuff was not going to fly with him, and he leaves
JR pretty much alone. Unfortunately for the “Tobster that means his unwanted
attentions are all aimed at him. I think all poor Toby would need to do is tell him off, once, and
that would be that, but “ Tobmeister is a very laid back, “don’t want no
confrontations here kind of guy, and just doesn’t see it. As he is getting more
comfortable Buster is becoming more responsive to commands and does obviously have some
obedience training. He is very sensitive to reprimands of any kind and apologized to the point
where one is sogging wet from kisses and snozzles. I am now realizing that Buster barks when
my anniversary clock chimes because he lived somewhere with a doorbell, that may just have
chimed the same way. As, now, he not only barks, but runs to the back door as well. (I think I
may take the battery out of that clock until he leaves! Lol) I will keep you posted on how
Buster’s little surgery goes.
8/3/03 Hi all, just a quick email to let all know, Buster has arrived at the Inn. A cute, very
flashy fawn, 4 yrs old, intact male(calling vet in am). He is still very friendly & has kisses for
everyone. He has already met my guys and all is well.
