10/12/03 - UPDATED  - Artie continues to br doing very well.  He approaches everything
he does with tremendous vigor and enthusiasm including eating sleeping playing wiggling
and showing affection.  We graduated from obedience school. and it seems to have
improved his behavior with other dogs among other things. We still have one little problem
and that is he still pees in the house when we don't anticipate quickly enough.  I'm beginning
to believe its cronic and maybe its why we have him.

9/20/03 - UPDATED - Artie has settled in very nicely.  He eats well, sleeps well and plays
very energetically.  However, he still pees inside occasionally.  We have no kids or other
pets in the house but have been sitting for our granddog, a black Lab.  Much to our
pleasant surprise, they've gotten along wonderfully.  Obedience training is goingt well and I
think it has helped that he is with other dogs once a week.

7/31/03 Artie has been adopted.

7/27/03 Artie is pending adoption!

7/4/03 Artie has been with just over a week(I picked him up
last Monday afternoon)and overall he is a joy and we
love him dearly.  He is very friendly, affectionate,
and playful(like most boxers he subscribes to the
theory that everything was put on this earth as his
plaything).  Considering what he's probably been
through he is relaxed and comfortable in his
surroundings.  We have had no trouble leaving him in
his crate(yea!!) and he even hangs out in it with us
around.

However(aren't there always some howevers?, there are
a few areas that need some work.  Firstly he is not
quite housebroken.  He knows what to do when walked
outside, but doesn't yet realize he's not supposed to
do the same in the house.  He has yet to mess in the
crate, but he does sneak into other rooms.  We're
working on this by restricting and keeping track of
his movements.

His only other issue is his youthful exuberance and
playfullness which is a pleasure to experience, but
can be harmful to one's health if not careful. This is
especially true if the recipient of his endless
affection for everybody and everything is a small
child or animal.  In our opinion these issues can be
dealt with with discipline and obedience training, of
which he is clueless.  We are beginning to make
progress though, he now sits on command.  Stay tuned.
